people in the state administration to each other. This opposition has done a lot of damage to both the statesmen and the
state. characterized by malice statesmen made suggestions to the sultan and carried out activities to eliminate successful
statesmen for their own interests. In this process, statesmen who had achieved significant success in various positions
lost their lives. As a matter of fact, one of those who suffered this fate is Kaptan-ı Derya Silahdar Yusuf Pasha. Yusuf
Pasha, after being taken to the palace by a palace chamberlain, served as a palace porter, axeman and gardener. Sultan

and made him his Silahdar in 1643 instead of the murdered Silahdar Mustafa. Subsequently, he became a companion
of Sultan İbrahim. In 1644, he was appointed as the Kaptan-ı Derya by Sultan İbrahim. In 1645, he has been the
commander of the land and sea siege troops in the Crete Campaign. He conquered the Castle of Chania on August 19,
1645 and received the title of "Conqueror of Chania". However, this success of his was against the interests of some
statesmen, especially Grand Vizier Sultanzade Mehmed Pasha, and they provoked Sultan İbrahim by speaking against
him. As a result, Sultan İbrahim, whose mood changed every moment, killed Silâhdar Yusuf Pasha, who achieved
important success. In this study, Yusuf Pasha's life and the process leading to his murder was tried to be revealed in the
