Abstract
Three months passed between the Prophet’s (PBUH) farewell pilgrimage that
took place in the Hijri 10th century and his death. Although, upon returning
to Medina, some signs of fatigue were seen in the Prophet, his real disease
began three or four days before the month of Rabîu’l-Evvel. It is understood
that his disease lasted for two weeks. It is also known that some treatment
methods were used for the disease. According to the common belief, the
Prophet Muhammad died on Monday evening, the 12th day of Rabîu’l-Evvel.
The death of the Prophet led to surprise among some of his Companions.
During this time, Abu Bakr seemed to play an important role in calming the
society. The funeral prayer for the Prophet was not made as a mass. Rather, it
was performed individually for about two days after washing and shrouding
works were completed. In accordance with customs and traditions, washing,
shrouding and burial procedures were performed by his close relatives,
including Ali (His Holiness). The Prophet was buried on Wednesday, two
days after his death
