Development of Themes in Fiscal Sociology in Türkiye According to YÖK National Thesis Center Data (2010-2025)

Abstract

This research reveals the thematic structure and development trends of postgraduate theses in the YÖK National Thesis Center with "fiscal sociology" in their titles or keywords. The study uses a qualitative approach, with document analysis as the data collection method. It examines eighteen postgraduate theses that meet the criteria and analyzes the data with thematic analysis. The findings group the theses into five main themes: theoretical fiscal sociology; fiscal state and tax state discussions; tax culture and tax awareness; tax compliance and taxpayer behavior; and new research areas in fiscal sociology. In recent years, topic diversity has increased, and the accessible thesis literature has become more interdisciplinary. The study offers a holistic framework for the thematic development of fiscal sociology research.
