Abstract

16. ve 17. yüzyıl bilimsel devrimler çağı bilim insanlarının keşfettikleri bilimsel gerçekleri açıklamak için cesur da olmaları gereken bir dönemdi, zira keşfedilen gerçekler dini otoritenin dogmalarıyla ters düştüğü anda bilim insanları yaşamlarıyla tehdit edilmişlerdir. İşte bu çalışmada da kilise baskısının oldukça yoğun hissedildiği bu dönemde bu çağın bilim insanı olarak Descartes’in hareket teorisini ortaya koyarken bu baskıdan nasıl etkilendiği, bu baskının etkisiyle teorisinde ne gibi değişikliklere gittiği incelenmiştir.

Abstract

16th and 17th centuries, the era of Scientific Revolutions was such an era during which scientists had to be brave to explain the scientific truths they discovered, as they were threatened with their lives the moment the discovered facts clashed with the dogmas of religious authority. In this study, we examined how Descartes, as a scientist of this era, was affected by this pressure while putting forward his theory of movement in this period when the pressure of the church was felt very intensely, and what kind of changes he made in his theory under the influence of this pressure.
