Cultural study is a broad concept and investigates and deals with the differences, subjectivities, perceptions, discourses and behaviors that appear within the social, economic and political structure with a critical and interpretive approach. In this context, SKAD includes academic studies in disciplines within the scope of social sciences, especially family studies, social problem research, women's studies, social work, sociology, history, literature, cultural history, linguistics and art history.

Journal of Social and Cultural Research (JSCR) is an international and refereed academic journal published twice a year, in June and December, by Sakarya University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The journal includes research and review articles, evaluation articles and book reviews on social and cultural fields.

The publication language of the journal is Turkish and English. The articles submitted to the journal are sent to two referees by the field editors and the articles that meet the criteria to be sent to the referee are sent to two referees for evaluation. Manuscripts are subjected to double-blind referee process before publication. In addition, all submissions are screened for plagiarism before publication and a maximum 20% similarity rate is sought. The average time for initial evaluation of articles is 15 days, while the average time for peer review of articles is 30 days. Article submissions are typically processed within an average of 90 days.

Dear JSCR Readers,
Our 10th anniversary and 20th issue are now at your service, dedicated to researchers and academics. We extend our sincere thanks to all our valuable authors and referees, especially the SAU Publications Coordination and our journal team.
In this issue, our journal continues to grow in strength and momentum, featuring eight articles and two book introductions in both Turkish and English. Our content spans a wide range including sociology, literature, art history, education, social work, and religious studies.

We wish you enjoyable readings, and we look forward to receiving your contributions in the social and cultural fields for our 21st issue in December 2024.
