Congenital cholesteatoma: A case report

Abstract

Congenital cholesteatomas are rare disorders, which may originate from the postpartum persistence of epidermoid formations.They have been defined as evidencing no tympanic perforation, that a pearly white mass medial to the tympanic membrane. Usually presentation as asymptomatic but rarely conductive hearing loss, otorrhea, vertigo may occur. Treatment of congenital cholesteatomas is surgical. In this article,we present a case with congenital cholesteatoma presenting hearing loss, otalgia ve otorrhea, also bone defect associated with carotis interna artery.

Konjenital kolesteatom: Bir olgu sunumu

Abstract

Konjenital kolesteatom aberan epitelyal kalıntılardan kaynaklanan nadir bir durumdur. Genellikle sağlam timpanik membran arkasında beyaz yuvarlak kitle olarak kendini gösterir. Asemptomatik seyredebileceği gibi iletim tipi işitme kaybı, kulak akıntısı, baş dönmesine sebep olabilir. Cerrahi tedavi uygulanır. Bu yazıda, işitme kaybı, otalji ve otore ile kendini gösteren, internal karotid arter kemik duvarda defekt oluşturan konjenital kolesteatom olgusunu sunarak tartışmayı amaçladık.
