A case of reexpansion pulmonary edema occurring after treatment idiopathic spontaneous haemothorax

Abstract

Spontaneous hemothorax is collection of blood to pleural space due to non-traumatic reasons. In the cases who reason of hemothorax not found are rare and named idiopathic spontaneous hemothorax. 23-years-old male patient with massive left hemothorax, a chest tube inserted. After drainage, left lower lobe was atelectatic. Hematoma was drained surgically and decortication performed. Reexpansion pulmonary edema developed postoperatively. In this article, a rare case of idiopathic spontaneous hemothorax management and treatment steps and clinical process of reexpansion pulmonary edema after the operation; were presented.

İdyopatik spontan hemotoraks tedavisi sonrası ortaya çıkan pulmoner reekspansiyon ödemi olgusu

Abstract

Spontan hemotoraks, plevral aralıkta travma dışı nedenlerle kan toplanmasıdır. Hemotoraksa yol açan herhangi bir nedenin bulunamadığı olgular ise nadir görülür ve idyopatik spontan hemotoraks olarak adlandırılır. 23 yaşında solda masif hemotoraksı olan erkek hastaya göğüs tüpü takıldı. Drenaj sonrası sol alt lobu atelektatik olan hastanın operasyonla hematomu boşaltıldı ve dekortikasyon uygulandı. Hastada postop dönemde pulmoner reexpansiyon ödemi gelişti. Bu yazıda nadir görülen idyopatik spontan hemotorakslı bir olgunun takip ve tedavi basamakları ile operasyon sonrasında ortaya çıkan pulmoner reekspansiyon ödemi tablosunun klinik süreci sunuldu.
