The Impact of Loneliness in Older Adults Presenting with Memory Impairment: A Single-Center Experience

Abstract

In this letter, I am providing feedback on the article titled "The Impact of Loneliness in Older Adults Presenting with Memory Impairment: A Single-Center Experience," published in the Sakarya Medical Journal. I appreciate the authors for their valuable contribution to the study, but I would like to highlight a few important points that I believe could guide future research in this area. These include the role of sleep disturbances in cognitive impairment, the impact of anticholinergic medications on memory, and the importance of assessing the overall comorbidity burden in older adults, considering the high prevalence of chronic diseases in this population. Addressing these factors in future studies could offer deeper insights into the relationship between loneliness and cognitive decline in older adults and strengthen our understanding of this complex issue.
