Abstract

Phosphate nephropathy is an acute renal failure that develops upon injury to tubulus cells caused by phoshate crytals. Colonoscopy is performed frequently for various indications

and provide direct examination of the colon. Phosphate content purgatives are used for premedication before colonoscopy. Phosphate nephropathy, electrolyte imbalance and

blood gas abnormalities can be seen due to use of these purgatives. This complication may especially occur in high risk patients. We report a case of acut posphate nephropathy

after colonoscopy in a 73-year-old male who was hospitalized for anemia in internal medicine clinic.

Kolonoskopiyi Takiben Gelişen Akut Fosfat Nefropati Olgusu

Abstract

Fosfat nefropatisi fosfat kristallerinin nefronları hasara uğratması sonucu gelişen akut böbrek yetmezliğine verilen addır. Kolonun direk incelenmesini sağlayan kolonoskopi işlemi

çeşitli endikasyonlar nedeniyle sıkça uygulanmaktadır. Kolonoskopi öncesi hazırlık olarak fosfat içerikli purgatifler kullanılmaktadır. Bu purgatiflere bağlı olarak fosfat nefropatisi,

elektrolit ve kan gazı bozuklukları görülebilmektedir. Özellikle yüksek riskli hastalarda gelişebilecek bu komplikasyon göz ardı edilmemelidir. Biz de bu olgu sunumunda anemi

etyolojisi araştırılmak üzere iç hastalıkları kliniğinde takip edilen 73 yaşındaki erkek olguda kolonoskopiyi takiben gelişen akut fosfat nefropatisini sunmayı amaçladık.
