The majority of the spinal cord involvement in the pediatric age group are sarcomas. Granulocytic sarcoma is a rare tumor composed of immature granulocytes. The most commonly occur during the course of acute myeloid leukemia. Granulocytic sarcoma most often occurs during the course of acute myeloid leukemia. Sometimes the first sign of leukemia may granulocytic sarcoma. Admitted to our emergency department because of acute onset paraparesis 16-year-old male patient was diagnosed as a result of spinal extradural mass was detected between 3-7 thoracic vertebrae. Patients were operated as an emergency. Pathology results came as granulocytic sarcoma. Bone marrow examination and flow cytometry results of acute myeloid leukemia was diagnosed.
Pediatrik çağda spinal tutulum gösteren kitlelerin çoğunluğunu sarkomlar oluşturmaktadır. Granülositik sarkom, immatür granülositlerin oluşturduğu nadir rastlanan bir tümördür. En sık akut myelositer löseminin seyri sırasında ortaya çıkmakta olup, bazen de ilk bulgusu granülositik sarkom olabilmektedir. Akut gelişen paraparezi nedeniyle acil kliniğimize başvuran 16 yaşındaki erkek olgunun yapılan tetkikleri sonucunda torakal 3-7 vertebraları arasında ekstradural spinal kitle saptanması üzerine olgu, acil olarak ameliyat edildi. Patoloji sonucu granülositik sarkom olarak geldi. Yapılan kemik iliği muayenesi ve flow sitometri sonucu, akut myelositer lösemi tanısı kondu.
