Abstract

Pyogenic liver abscess is a rare disease which may develop due to
bacterial or fungal agents. With appropriate antibiotics and drainage,
mortality can be significantly reduced. In this article, we present a case who
complaints with fever, right side pain, lack of appetite, nausea, detected
subhepatic liver abscess in radiological imaging, applied percutaneous abscess
drainage and Candida globosa growth in abscess culture, and recovered after caspofungin treatment. Although
bacterial agents are frequently isolated in liver abscesses, fungal agents can
be seen as an infectious agent.
