Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the perceptions of Seferhisar residents on Cittaslow in their city and if Cittaslow effected their life satisfaction or not. It was designed as a descriptive type of research via relational search model. Data were collected through a questionnaire which was developed based on the literature. Questionnaires were implemented face-to-face to the residents of Seferhisar via on quota sampling, in which the quotas were determined based on district and age groups. Besides descriptive statistics, factor and regression analysis were used. The people living in Seferhisar perceived the results of Cittaslow practices in their city under the four factors; namely impacts on the natural environment, the effects on welfare, the cultural influences and the economic impacts. It was found that Seferhisar residents had a positive attitude towards tourism and they thought that after becoming a Cittaslow, tourism development based on Cittaslow influenced positively their life satisfaction
