The Effect of Institutionalization on Job Satisfaction, Voice Behavior and Turnover Intention in Turkish Hotels

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the level of institutionalization of business enterprises and the job satisfaction levels of their employees, voice behavior and the intention to leave. The data used in the study designed as the relational survey model was collected by a survey from five-star hotel employees in Antalya and Istanbul. The data were obtained using 877 questionnaires collected from employees according to stratified sampling model. Descriptive statistics, explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, structural equation modeling (SEM) were used as statistical analysis techniques. According to analysis, institutionalization has 3 dimensions as professionalization, consistency and formalization, job satisfaction has two dimensions as internal and external, voice behavior and intention to leave are gathered under one dimension. As a result of YEM analysis; all dimensions of institutionalization on external job satisfaction, two dimensions on the internal job satisfaction, two dimensions on voice behavior positive and meaningful and one dimension on intention to leave negative and meaningful effect has been determined.
