In this article it is discussed that how we perceive hobby in daily life, the transformation of the definition, scope and content of the game, the differences between traditional games, modern games and digital games, and the relationship between games, sports and science based on the concepts of hobby, games, sports, e-sports and science in general. We devote a lot of time to some activities that we define as hobby. Especially teenager, young or adult people are now largely dependent on digital games that can be considered a hobby without a professional dimension. Accordingly, whether these games can be defined as e-sports today is one of the important discussion topics. For this reason, in the present study, first of all, it is discussed how today's games differ from past or traditional societies and whether these games can be considered in the sports category based on game definitions As a result, it is argued that there are great changes in the way we perceive the game and the quality of the game, the evaluation of digital games as sports will also turn almost everyone who plays these games into sportsman, the evaluation of many games as sports and the attempt to scientificize the sport under the title of sports sciences is highly controversial.
