Paradigm Shift in Anthropology: Literary Turn and Literature

Öz

This study has been established on concepts of scientific discourse, ethnographic text, narrative and allegory. The basic discussion is based on the relationship between ethnography and text. Ethnography points out to both field research and reasoning, as well as the text which rises from a long-term communication process with unique relationships. Ethnographers try to understand the groups or relationships that they study with from an “insider” perspective by participating in their daily life practices. They refer to the ethnographic way of textualizing, which is called ethnography, to express the meaning that they captured. In this study, relations of ethnography with text in social anthropology; allegory and polysemy, author and ethnographer; relations between the observer and the observed, literary turn come up for discussion. The understandings of science formed within anthropology and the different types of texts produced by them are subjected to a historical and conceptual critical reading in the context of the paradigm shift that took place.

Antropolojide Paradigma Değişimi: Metinselliğe Dönüş ve Edebiyat

Öz

Bu çalışma; bilimsel söylem, etnografik metin, hikâye, alegori kavramları üzerine kuruldu. Temel tartışma da etnografi ile metin arasındaki ilişkilerden ilerliyor. Etnografi, hem saha araştırmasına ve akıl yürütme yöntemine hem de uzun süreye yayılmış̧ kendine özgü ilişkilerle yürüyen bir iletişim sürecinin sonucunda ortaya çıkan metne işaret eder. Etnografik çalışma yapan araştırmacılar, çalıştıkları grupları ya da ilişki biçimlerini, kişilerin gündelik hayat pratiklerine katılarak “içeriden” bir bakışla anlamaya çalışırlar. Yakaladıkları anlamları ifade etmek için de yine etnografi adı verilen metinleştirme yoluna başvururlar. Bu çalışmada ise sosyal antropolojideki etnografi ile metin ilişkileri; alegori ve çok anlamlılık, yazar ve etnograf; gözlemci ve gözlenen arası ilişkiler; metinselliğe dönüş kavramı çerçevesinde tartışmaya açılıyor. Antropolojide teşekkül eden bilim anlayışları ile bunların ürettiği farklı türden metinler, gerçekleşen paradigma değişimi bağlamında tarihsel ve kavramsal olarak eleştirel bir okumaya tabi tutuluyor.
