Abstract

Bu çalışmada eğitimin ekonomik büyüme
üzerindeki uzun dönemli etkilerinin küresel ölçekte incelenmesi ve PISA
katılımcısı ekonomiler açısından bir durum değerlendirmesi yapılması
amaçlanmaktadır.  Bu kapsamda, eğitim
alanında uluslararası bir referans olarak kabul edilen PISA sonuçlarının, PISA
2012 katılımcısı ekonomilerde eğitim ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkiler
açısından açıklayıcı ve geçerli olup olmadığı 1990-2014 dönemi için ekonometrik
olarak incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, inceleme döneminde PISA katılımcısı
ekonomilerde eğitimin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki uzun dönemli etkilerinin
pozitif yönlü ve istatistiki açıdan anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla
birlikte, çalışmada eğitimin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki uzun dönemli ve pozitif
yönlü etkilerinin büyüklüğünün, PISA katılımcısı ekonomilerin sınavdaki başarı
düzeyleriyle paralel bir şekilde arttığı tespit
edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, PISA sınav sonuçlarının katılımcı ekonomilerde eğitim ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkileri
açıklamada geçerli olduğunu göstermektedir.

The Effects on Economic Growth of Education: An Application on The PISA Participants (1990-2014)

Abstract

In this study, it is intended that long-term effects on economic growth of education has been analyzed in global scale and in terms of economies of the PISA participants to be carried out a situation assessment. In this context, it has been investigated whether it is descriptive and valid in terms of the relationship between education and economic growth, in the economy the PISA 2012 participants the results of PISA, which is accepted as an international reference in the field of education, as econometric for the period 1990-2014. As a result of the study, it has been determined that is to positive the directional and statistically significant long-term effects on economic growth of education in the economies of PISA participants, in the review period. However, in the study it has been identifyed that the size of effects long-term and positive the directional on economic growth of education is increased in parallel with the level of success in the exam the economies of PISA participants. These results demonstrates that in the description of the relationship between education and economic growth in the economies of PISA participants of results of the PISA exam is valied.
