Abstract

It is
obvious that Turkey will be affected on the long-term by Syrian refugee crisis,
which still continues, because of its geopolitical position, and historical and
cultural ties. In consequence of this situation, Syrians who migrated to Turkey
have been included into our society as a new social group. With the start of
the Syrians migrating to Turkey, they have caused a tension between the culture
of the people living in Turkey and their own culture. In this context, knowing
the attitudes towards the Syrians has become a desirable situation in many
fields, most notably being used in adaptation studies, with the purposes such
as determining public policies. In this regard, the purpose of this study was
designated as ‘to develop a valid and reliable tool that measures the attitude
of local people towards the Syrians.’ It is expected that this scale, which was
developed in order to measure the attitude of the local people towards the
Syrians, will contribute to adaptation and policy-development studies that will
be conducted in the field.In order to test the validity and the reliability of
the measurement tool, a three-factor construct, which consisted of 26 clauses
and which were called acknowledgment, threatening and rejection, were
determined with the data obtained from the study group of 540 people. Internal
consistency coefficient obtained for the whole scale was found .965; and KMO
value was found .969. Total
variance ratio that the factors of the scale explain is 66,335. Considering these findings, it
can be argued that in order to reveal the attitudes of the local people towards
the Syrians, the scale is valid, reliable and can discriminate between one
which has the feature that is to be measured and one which does not.

YEREL HALKIN SURİYELİLERE YÖNELİK TUTUM ÖLÇEĞİ GELİŞTİRME ÇALIŞMASI

Abstract

Türkiye’nin, jeopolitik konumu, tarihi ve kültürel
bağlarından dolayı hâlen devam etmekte olan Suriyeli mülteci krizinden uzun
soluklu olarak etkileneceği aşikârdır. 
Bu durumun bir ürünü olarak Türkiye’ye göç eden Suriyeliler toplumumuza
yeni bir sosyal grup olarak dâhil olmuşlardır. Suriyelilerin Türkiye’ye gelmeye
başlaması, Türkiye’de yaşayan halkın kültürü ile kendi kültürleri arasında bir
gerilimin yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Bu bağlamda Suriyelilere yönelik
tutumların bilinmesi başta uyum çalışmalarında kullanılmak üzere kamu
politikalarını belirlemek vb. amaçlarla birçok alanda istenen bir durum hâline
gelmiştir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı yerel halkın Suriyelilere yönelik
tutumunu ölçen geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç geliştirmek olarak
belirlenmiştir.  Halkın Suriyelilere
yönelik tutumunu ölçmek amacıyla geliştirilen bu ölçeğin; sahada yürütülecek
uyum ve politika geliştirme çalışmalarına katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir. Ölçme
aracının geçerlik ve güvenirliğin test edilmesi amacıyla 540 kişilik çalışma
grubundan elde edilen verilerle 26 maddeden oluşan kabul etme, tehdit ve
reddetme olarak adlandırılan üç faktörlü yapı belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin tümü için
elde edilen iç tutarlık kat sayısı. 965; KMO değeri. 969 olarak tespit
edilmiştir. Ölçeğin faktörlerinin açıkladığı toplam varyans oranı 66,335’tir.

Bu bulgulardan yola çıkarak ölçeğin yerel halkın
Suriyelilere yönelik tutumlarını ortaya koymak için geçerli, güvenilir ve
ölçülmek istenen özelliğe sahip olan ile olmayanı ayırt etme özelliğine sahip
olduğu söylenebilir.
