Diğer madde kullanım örneklerine kıyasla esrar, genellikle daha ağır maddeleri deneme sürecinde bir geçiş maddesi olarak kabul edilmektedir. Öte yandan kullanıcılar açısından bağımlılık yapmadığına dair bir algı söz konusudur. Bu yönüyle madde kullanım türleri açısından özel bir konumu bulunmaktadır. Akran/arkadaş çevresi ise esrarın bu özel konumu içinde kullanıma başlama ve sürdürme konusunda etkili olan önemli parametrelerden biridir. Bu çalışma, akran ve arkadaş gruplarının esrar kullanımı üzerindeki etkisini incelemek üzere kurgulanmıştır. Nitel araştırma desenine göre hazırlanan bu araştırmada 15-25 yaş arası 10 gençle derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan görüşmeler akran/arkadaş grubunun etkisini açıklayan tematik bir yöntemle yorumlanmıştır. Buna göre akran/arkadaş grubunun esrara başlama, kullanımı teşvik etme, özendirme ve hatırlatma gibi etkilere sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Diğer yandan kullanım sürecinde bir ekonomik destek ve güvenlik unsuru olarak kabul edildiği ve buna bağlı olarak kullanım sıklığının ve miktarının artmasına neden olduğu öğrenilmiştir. Sonuç olarak akran/arkadaşlık ilişkilerinin esrar kullanımına başlama ve kullanımın sürdürülmesinde önemli düzeyde etkiye sahip olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.
Cannabis is generally regarded as a transitional substance in the process of testing heavier substances compared to other substance use examples. On the other hand, there is a perception that it is not addictive. In this respect, it has a special position in terms of substance use types. On the other hand, peer/friend effect is one of the important parameters that are effective in starting and continuing to use cannabis. This study was designed to examine the effect of peer and friends circle on cannabis use. In this study, which was prepared according to qualitative research design, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 young people aged between 15-25. The interviews were interpreted with a thematic method explaining the effect of peer / friends circle. Accordingly, it was found that peer / friend group had effects such as initiating, encouraging and reminding use of cannabis. On the other hand, it has been saw that it is accepted as an economic support and security element in the process of useage and consequently increases the frequency and amount of useage. As a result, it is understood that peer / friendship relationships have a significant effect on the initiation and maintenance of cannabis use.
