Concepts Map and History of the Field Urbanism Studies in Turkey
Abstract
Concepts are main components of science knowledge. They represent the development of social science and establish this development.This paper analyzes concepts of urban studies in Turkey and their changes. The establisment and evolution of Turkish urbanism are explained by the concepts in this study. The explanation draws from “Concept Map and History of Key Concepts of Urban Studies in Turkey”.The research has qualitative aspects and uses triangulation. The techniques of data collections are based on critical discourse analysis, contexts analysis and concept maps. The study lists the concepts of urban studies in Turkey, categorizes the concepts, presents relations between them. Finally, the research illustrates Turkish urbanism as unique.
