Turkey and BRICS, Emerging Powers of the Changing Global Order: A Comparative Analysis
Abstract
With the 2008 financial crisis, as the effectiveness of the US hegemony in the international system has been gradually diminishing, a new turn has been passed that has the sayings of the Global South, which we can identify as rising powers. With the growth that has taken place in the economy in recent years, the material power it has, the potential to become a leading country in the geography it is in, and the ever-increasing efficiency in global governance, Turkey can be regarded as a rising/emerging power in the changing global order. The argument for conceptualizing Turkey as a rising power in the changing global order, will be supported in the context of comparative analysis with the BRICS group, which is regarded as the most important emerging economies.
