EGZERSİZDEN 45 VE 60 DAKİKA ÖNCE GLİKOZ ALIMININ KOŞU PERFORMANSINA VE KAN GLİKOZ KONSANTRASYONUNA ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, egzersizden önce glikoz alım zamanının koşu performansına ve kan glikoz konsantrasyonuna etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla bu çalışmaya Türkiye Deplasmanlı Süper Liginde aktif olarak oynayan 30 erkek hentbolcu (yaş: 22,900±2,591 yıl, vücut ağırlığı: 76,043±3,709 kg, boy: 181,300±5,305 cm) katılmıştır. Denekler 20 m mekik koşu testinden 45 dk ve 60 dk önce glikoz (350 ml su içinde vücut ağırlığının kilogramı başına 1 gr) yada testten önce placebo almışlardır. Denekler mekik koşu testine 1 hafta ara ile girmişlerdir. Kan glikoz seviyesini belirlemek için, glikoz alımından hemen önce (dinlenik değer), glikoz aldıktan sonra egzersiz başlayana kadar her 15 dk’da ve egzersizden hemen sonra olmak üzere kulak memesinden kan örneği alınmıştır. Kan laktik asidi ise glikoz alımından hemen önce (dinlenik değer) ve egzersizden 5 dk sonra ölçülmüştür. Glikoz almadan önce ölçülen dinlenik kan glikoz konsantrasyonları (placebo: 78,300±5,052 mg/dl, 45 dk: 78,266±3,571 mg/dl, 60 dk: 78,033±5,580 mg/dl) arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p>0,05). Egzersizden hemen önce ölçülen kan glikoz seviyeleri (placebo: 78,633±4,552 mg/dl, 45 dk: 111,766±11,119 mg/dl, 60 dk: 97,466±14,407 mg/dl) arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur (p<0,01). Glikoz alımından sonra kan glikoz seviyesi artmaya başlamış ve en yüksek seviyeye glikoz aldıktan 30 dk sonra ulaşmıştır. Egzersizden hemen sonra ölçülen kan glikoz seviyeleri (placebo: 86,066±7,441 mg/dl, 45 dk: 84,100±16,346 mg/dl ve 60 dk: 81,500±14,359 mg/dl) arasında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı fark olmadığı tespit edilmiştir (p>0,05). Glikoz alım zamanının mekik koşu performansını ve egzersiz sonu kan laktik asit değerini istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olarak etkilemediği tespit edilmiştir (p>0,05). Bu çalışmanın sonucunda, egzersizden önce farklı zamanlarda alınan glikozun, kan glikoz konsantrasyonunu etkilediği fakat mekik koşu performansını ve kan laktik asit değerini istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı olarak etkilemediği tespit edilmiştir

EFFECTS OF GLUCOSE INGESTION 45 AND 60 MINUTE BEFORE EXERCISE ON RUNNING PERFORMANCE AND BLOOD GLUCOSE CONCENTRATION

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of glucose ingestion before exercise on running performance and blood glucose concentration. 30 male handball players who play in Turkish Super League (age: 22,900±2,591 year, body weight: 76,043±3,709 kg, height: 181,300±5,305 cm) participated this study. The subjects ingested a glucose solution (1 gr per kg of body mass in 350 ml water) 45 minute and 60 minute prior to 20 m shuttle run test and a placebo one prior to test. Each subject performed shuttle run exercise separated by a week. Earlobe blood samples were taken; before glucose ingestion (resting levels), every 15 minutes after glucose ingestion until the exercise starts and immediately after the exercise for the determination of blood glucose levels. Blood lactic acid levels were measured before glucose ingestion (resting levels) and after 5 minutes of exercise. Resting blood glucose levels that measured before glucose ingestion (placebo: 78,300±5,052 mg/dl, 45 minute: 78,266±3,571 mg/dl, 60 minute: 78,033±5,580 mg/dl) were not found significantly different (p>0,05). The blood glucose values (placebo: 78,633±4,552 mg/dl, 45 minute: 111,766±11,119 mg/dl, 60 minute: 97,466±14,407 mg/dl) that measured immediately before exercise were found significantly different (p<0,01). Blood glucose levels began to increase after glucose ingestion and the peak blood glucose values were reached within 30 minutes after glucose ingestion. The blood glucose values (placebo: 86,066±7,441 mg/dl, 45 minute: 84,100±16,346 mg/dl ve 60 minute: 81,500±14,359 mg/dl) that measured immediately after exercise were not found significantly different (p>0,05). It was determined that glucose ingesting didn’t significantly effect the shuttle run performance and lactic acid levels (p>0,05). The results of this study show that ingesting glucose in different times before exercise effected the blood glucose concentration but didn’t effect the shuttle run performance and blood lactic acid levels
