ANTRENÖRLERİN MESLEKİ ETİK İLKELERİ NELERDİR? NASIL ÖLÇÜLÜR? ÖLÇEK GELİŞTİRME: ÖLÇEĞİN GEÇERLİK VE GÜVENİRLİĞİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, antrenörlerin mesleki etik ilkelere uyma düzeylerini belirlemede kullanılacak geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirmek ve antrenörlerin mesleki etik ilkelere uyma düzeyleri arasında cinsiyet ve görev değişkenlerine göre anlamlı fark olup olmadığına da bakmaktır. Çalışma grubu, 44 antrenör ve 160 sporcudan oluşmuştur. Antrenörlerin % 18,2’si kadın, %81,8’i erkek, sporcuların %29,4 kadın, %70,6’sı erkektir. Grubun yaş ortalaması 23’dür. Gereksinim duyulan veriler “Antrenörlerin Mesleki Etik İlkeleri Ölçeği” (AMEİO) ile toplanmıştır. AMEİÖ’nün faktör yapısının belirlenmesi için, Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) yapılmış, ölçeğin güvenirliği için Cronbach Alfa katsayısı (.97) ve Spearman Brown korelasyonu (.84) hesaplanmıştır. Cinsiyet ve görev değişkenlerine göre etik ilkelere uyma düzeyleri arasındaki fark ise Mann Whitney U analizi kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Ölçekle ilgili sonuçlar AMEİO’nun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu göstermiştir. Erkek antrenörler, kadın antrenörlerle kıyasla etik ilkelere daha yüksek düzeyde uymaktadırlar. Görev değişkenleri incelendiğinde, antrenörler kendilerinin etik ilkelere uyma düzeylerinin sporcuların görüşlerine kıyasla daha yüksek olduğunu belirtmişlerdir

WHAT ARE THE PROFESSIONAL CODES OF COACHES AND HOW ARE THEY MEASURED? DEVELOPMENT OF SCALE: VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE SCALE

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to develop a valid and reliable scale used to determine compliance levels to professional ethic codes of athletic coaches and examine the athletic coaches’ compliance levels to professional ethic codes in terms of gender and position variables. Participants were 44 coaches (18, 2 % female, 81, 8 % male) and 160 athletes (29, 4 % female, 70, 6 % male) (n=204, total) . To obtain related data, Coaches’ Professional Ethics Code Scale (CPECS) which was five degrees likert type was administered. To determine factor structure of scale, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were applied. For the reliability of the scale, Cronbach Alfa coefficient (.97) and Spearman Brown split-half correlation coefficient (.84) were calculated. Coaches’ compliance levels to professional ethic codes in terms of gender and position variables were analyzed by Mann Whitney U analysis. The results revealed that CPECS was a valid and reliable scale. Male coaches complied with ethical codes at a higher level in comparison to female.
