FARKLI ZEMİNLERDE OYNANAN PROFESYONEL TENİS MAÇLARINDA YAŞIN, CİNSİYETİN VE BOY UZUNLUĞUNUN KAT EDİLEN MESAFE ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİLERİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amaçlarını farklı zeminlerde oynanan profesyonel tenis maçlarında yaşın, cinsiyetin ve boy uzunluğunun maç süresince kat edilen toplam mesafe (TM), ortalama puan mesafesi (OPM) ve ortalama set mesafesi (OSM) üzerindeki etkilerini incelemek ve mesafe değişkenleri ile yaş ve boy uzunluğu arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya 2018 yılında düzenlenen Wimbledon ve US Open tenis turnuvalarında ana tablo fikstürlerinde yer alan ve turnuvaların resmi internet adreslerinde antropometrik özellikler ile mesafe değişkenlerine ait verileri bulunan profesyonel erkek (n= 84) ve kadın (n= 94) oyuncular dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları, hem erkek hem de kadın oyuncularda mesafe değişkenlerinde yaşa göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığını göstermiştir. Göreceli olarak uzun boylu kadın oyuncuların, hem çim hem de beton zeminde, OSM ve OPM değişkenlerde kısa boylu oyunculara göre daha az mesafe kat ettikleri bulunmuştur. Diğer yandan, sonuçlar, OPM değişkeninde cinsiyete göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığını, OSM değişkeninde ise kadın oyuncuların istatistiksel olarak daha fazla mesafe kat ettiklerini göstermiştir. Korelasyon analizleri, her iki zemininde de mesafe değişkenleri ile yaş arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir ilişki olmadığını göstermiştir. Bununla birlikte, erkek oyuncularda beton zeminde ve kadın oyuncularda çim zeminde OSM ve OPM ile boy uzunluğu arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ve negatif yönde bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, bu araştırma çim ve beton zeminlerde oynanan profesyonel tenis maçlarında kat edilen mesafe değişkenlerinin cinsiyet ve boy uzunluğuna göre değişim gösterdiğini vurgulamıştır.
