COVID-19 Döneminde Kocaeli Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dönem 4 Genel Cerrahi Stajı Çevrimiçi Uzaktan Eğitim Değerlendirmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Çalışmamızda Kocaeli Ünversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dönem 4 Genel Cerrahi stajı eğitim programının COVID-19 sebebiyle aksamadan ve minimal olumsuz sonuçlarla yerine getirilmesi için planlanan çevrimiçi uzaktan eğitim, hem ders veren öğretim üyeleri, hem de ders alan öğrenciler açısından elektronik değerlendirme formu ile değerlendirilmiştir.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamızda, COVID-19 sebebiyle yüz yüze eğitime ara verilen dönemde, Kocaeli Üniversitesi Genel Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı Dönem 4 stajının 11 Mayıs 2020 ile 12 Haziran 2020 tarihleri arasında yapılan çevrimiçi uzaktan eğitim dönemi ele alınmıştır.
Bulgular: Öğrencilerin değerlendirmesinde, yine COVID-19 döneminde Kocaeli Üniversitesi Genel Cerrahi Anabilim Dalı Dönem 4 stajında eğitim alan 72 öğrenciden, 51 tanesi hazırlanan değerlendirme anketini eksiksiz olarak doldurarak çalışmaya katılmıştır.
Sonuç: Çevrimiçi uzaktan eğitimin faydalı olduğu, COVID-19 ve benzeri acil durumlarda kullanılabileceği; fakat özellikle pratik eğitimler için, uygun şartların sağlandığı yüz yüze eğitime entegre edilmek suretiyle, hibrid eğitim programlarının tercih edilmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.

Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine 4th Grade General Surgery Internship Online Distance Education Assessment During COVID-19 Period

Abstract

Objective: In our study, the online distance education, which was planned to fulfill the Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine 4th grade General Surgery internship training program without disruption and with minimal negative results due to COVID-19, was evaluated with an electronic evaluation form in terms of both lecturers and students taking courses.
Material and Method: In our study, the online distance education period of Kocaeli University General Surgery Department 4th grade internship between 11 May 2020 and 12 June 2020 was discussed during the period when face-to-face education was interrupted due to COVID-19.
Findings: In the evaluation of the students, 51 out of 72 students who received training in Kocaeli University General Surgery Department 4th grade internship during the COVID-19 period, completed the evaluation questionnaire completely and participated in the study.
Conclusion: Online distance education is beneficial and can be used in COVID-19 and similar emergencies; However, it has been concluded that hybrid training programs should be preferred, especially for practical training, by integrating them into face-to-face training where appropriate conditions are provided.
