Determination of Activation Energies of Alkali Halogene Salts NaCl and KCl From The Curves of Thermally Stimulated Depolarization Currents

Abstract

In this study, the thermally stimulated depolarization measurements of polycrystal pellets of NaCl and KCl alkali halogen salts prepared by applying pressures to the powder of these materials have been performed. Firstly, the activation energies have been calculated from the curves of depolarization currents produced across the sample by thermal excitation, by means of the relations given by various authors for the peak shape method. Next, from these E energy values, s frequency factors have been determined. Finally, these obtained E and s values are compared with the literature, and the difference from the literature is interpreted as due to the crystal structure differences between the samples used in this study and those found in the literature.
