Maximum Size Record of Striped Red Mullet (Mullus surmuletus Linnaeus, 1758) for Turkish Seas

Abstract

A single specimen of M. surmuletus with 30.3 cm in total length (27.2 cm in fork length) and 314.00 g in total weight was caught off İbrice Bight (Saros Bay) with trammel nets by fisherman on 20 September 2017. The aim of this study is to present the maximum size record of the species for the Turkish waters.

Abstract

20 Eylül 2017 tarihinde 30.3 cm toplam boya (çatal boy 27.2 cm) ve 314.00 g ağırlığa sahip bir adet tekir balığı balıkçılar tarafından İbrice Limanı (Saros Körfezi) açıklarında fanyalı ağlar ile yakalanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, türün Türkiye suları için maksimum boy kaydını sunmaktır.
