Kapitalist Gerçekçilik Karşısında Postmarksizm: Umut ve Saçmalığın Söylemsel İlişkisi Üzerine

Öz

Bu makale, Mark Fisher’ın kapitalist gerçekçilik kavramını özgürleştirici eleştirel sosyal teoriler bağlamında ele alarak, kapitalist sistemin alternatif ideolojiler karşısındaki hâkimiyetini analiz etmektedir. Fisher’a göre geç kapitalizm, yalnızca ekonomik bir sistem değil, aynı zamanda kaçınılmaz ve alternatifsiz bir toplumsal gerçeklik olarak da kendini dayatmaktadır. Bu durum, bireylerin ve toplumların hayal gücünü sınırlayarak Marksist ütopyaya ve kapitalizme alternatif ideolojilere duyulan inancı zayıflatmaktadır. Makale, bu bağlamda, Marx sonrası dönemde ortaya çıkan bazı özgürleştirici sosyal teorilerin geç kapitalist düzen karşısındaki etkilerini sorgulamaktadır. Bu analizde, Harry G. Frankfurt’un saçmalık kavramı teorik bir araç olarak kullanılacaktır. Frankfurt’un kavramsallaştırması, bazı ideolojik söylemlerin hakikate olan kayıtsızlığını ve toplumsal gerçeklikten kopukluğunu ortaya koymak açısından işlevseldir. Makalede Fisher’ın kapitalist gerçekçilik anlayışı ile Frankfurt’un saçmalık kavramı bir araya getirilerek, günümüzde ideolojik alternatiflerin ne ölçüde gerçekliğe bağlı olduğu ve ne derece etkili olabildiği tartışılacaktır.

Post-marxism vs. Capitalist Realism: On the Discursive Relation Between Hope and Bullshit

Abstract

This article examines Mark Fisher’s concept of capitalist realism in the context of emancipatory critical social theories, analyzing the dominance of the capitalist system over alternative ideologies. According to Fisher, late capitalism is an economic system and an unavoidable and inescapable social reality. This condition limits the imagination of individuals and societies, weakening belief in alternative ideologies. In this context, the article questions the impact of specific emancipatory social theories that emerged in the post-Marxist era against the late capitalist order. To improve this analysis, Harry G. Frankfurt’s concept of bullshit will serve as a theoretical tool. Frankfurt’s conceptualization is functional in revealing the indifference of certain ideological discourses to truth and their detachment from social reality. Ultimately, by bringing together Fisher’s understanding of capitalist realism and Frankfurt’s theory of bullshit, this article will explore to what extent ideological alternatives today remain grounded in reality and how effective they can be.
