Teaching is a specialized profession in which the government is responsible for education, instruction and educational management. To be appointed as a teacher candidate, individuals should meet the requirements in the Public Servants Law, graduate from higher education institutions determined by law, and success in the exams prepared by Assessment, Selection and Placement Center. The Ministry of National Education released “Appointment and Relocation Regulation” in the Official Journal with the issue no. 29379 on 17.04.2015 and in parallel with this regulation, “Directive about the Process of Teacher Candidate Training” was issued on 03.03.2016. Some changes were made with these legal arrangements. It is stated that this process will continue in upcoming periods. In the present study, positive and negative sides of the process of teacher candidate training were discussed according to the views of teacher candidates and other stakeholders. In this qualitative study, teacher candidates and consulting teachers working at primary, secondary and high schools were interviewed by the researcher. Questions under the headings of instructional and educational implementation, counselling, school management process, out of school activities, and process of evaluating the performance were asked to the teacher candidates. Questions regarding professional criteria, implementation and assessment process were asked to the consulting teachers, school managers, and coordinators. To analyze the data, content analysis method was used and the obtained results were presented. Some findings of the study are as the follows: Half of the administrators agree that teacher candidates can choose a different city from where they have been appointed to; however, the other half disagree on that issue. Additionally, while most of the consulting teachers disapprove of this practice, more than half of the teacher candidates approve it. The study ends with the suggestions.
