KOCAELİ İZMİT KÖRFEZ DİP ÇAMURUNUN YAPI MALZEMESİ OLARAK KULLANILABİLİRLİĞİ VE ÜRETİLEN YAPI MALZEMELERİNİN ÇEVREYE KATKISI

Abstract

Kocaeli-İzmit Körfezi’nin uç kısmında başlanan ve ilerideki müsilaj oluşumlarını engellemeyi hedefleyerek, denizi temizleyen dip çamuru çıkarılması çalışmaları tüm hızı ile sürmektedir. Mevcut bölgeden çıkan çamur ağır metaller yönünden zararsızdır. Ancak çamurun atık sahalarında toplanması ve yeterince geri dönüştürülmemesi büyük bir sorundur. Bu amaçla yapılmış olan çalışmalarda tuğla, beton ve briket gibi üretilmiş olan yapı malzemeleri sunulmuş ve üretilen malzemelerin çevreye getirileri tartışılmıştır.

USABILITY OF KOCAELİ İZMİT GULF SEABED SLUDGE AS A CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE PRODUCED CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS

Abstract

The work to remove bottom sludge, which started at the far end of the Kocaeli-Izmit Gulf with the aim of preventing future mucilage formations and cleaning the sea, is continuing at full speed. The seabed sludge extracted from the current area is harmless in terms of heavy metals. However, the accumulation of the sludge in waste sites and its insufficient recycling is a significant problem. In the experimental studies conducted for this purpose, construction materials such as bricks, concrete, and cinder blocks have been produced, and the environmental impacts of these materials have been discussed.
