Pazarcık 16. Yüzyılda Maraş Kazâsı’na bağlı nâhiyedir. Buraya 1526’da 37, 1563’te 50 köy bağlıdır. 1526’da 1262 olan tahmini toplam nüfus, 1563’te 6968’e ulaşır. Her iki tarihte de nâhiyenin nüfusunun tamamını müslümanlar oluşturmakta, gayr-i müslim unsur bulunmamaktadır.1526’da nahiyeye bağlı köyleri kışlak olarak kullanan ve konar-göçer hayatı yaşayan Dulkadirli Ulus’una bağlı aşiretler büyük oranda 1563’te yerleşik hayata geçmişlerdir. Ekonomik durum tarım ve hayvancılığa dayalıdır. Nâhiyenin 1526’da 166027, 1563’te ise 269071 akçe vergi hasılı bulunmaktadır.
Pazarcık was a district of Maraş province in 16th century. In 1526, 27 and in 1563, 50 village bound to here. The conjectural population, increased to 6968 in 1563, while it was 1262 in 1526. In all term, population of the district was compose of muslims completely, so there wasn’t any non-Muslim. In 1526, tribes of Dulkadirli principality whom used the villages of the district as a sheltered place and aslo had lived nomadic life, passed to settled life. Economic state was based on agriculture and stock raising. District had 166027 ak e revenue in 1526, as for 269071 in 1563.
