Abstract

Downsizing refers to a deliberate decision to reduce the work force that is intended to improve organizational performance. Downsizing is a purposeful reduction in the size of an organization’s workforce to improve efficiency, productivity and competitiveness. Businesses use several techniques in downsizing, including providing incentives to take early retirement and transfer to subsidiary companies, but the most common technique is to simply terminate the employment of a certain number of people. Organizations have seen the negative affects of downsizing. When an organization decides to downsize, a detailed and well-planned program has to be implemented to make it successful

Abstract

Küçülme, organizasyonel performansıgeliştirmek için planlanan ve işgücünü azaltmak için bilinçli olarak verilen kararıbelirtir. Küçülme, bir organizasyonun işgücünün yeterliliğini, verimliliğini ve rekabet edebilirliğini geliştirmek için organizasyonun büyüklüğünde amaçlıbir azaltmadır. İşletmeler, erken emekliliği özendirmeyi ve işgörenlerin bir başka işletmeye transferlerini kapsayanbirkaç teknik kullanırlar, ancak en yaygın teknik, çok sayıda işgörenlerin işten çıkarılmasıdır. Organizasyonlarda küçülmenin olumsuz etkileri de görülmektedir. Bir organizasyon küçülmeye karar verdiği zaman, küçülmenin başarılıolmasıiçin, ayrıntılıve iyi planlanmışbir programıuygulamak zorundadır.
