Abstract
Artan globalleşme ve yoğun rekabet 1990’lardan beri firmalarırekabet üstünlüklerini artırmak için temel yeteneklerini geliştirecek gerekli araçlarıaraştırmaya yöneltmektedir. Çünkü bir firmanın sürdürülebilir rekabet üstünlüğünün önemli bir kaynağısahip olduğu temel yeteneğidir. Temel yetenek rekabet edebilirliğin temelidir. Bireysel firmanın mal ve hizmetleri firma temel yeteneğinin ürünüdür. Temel yeteneğin önemli kaynaklarıetkin teknoloji yönetimi, insan, organizasyonel öğrenme ve stratejik esnekliktir. Bu çalışma temel yeteneğe ilişkin literatürü incelemekte, dünya ve Türkiye’den temel yetenekle ilgili örnek olaylarıiçermektedir.

Abstract
Increasing globalization and intensive competition have forced firms to look for the necessary means by which they can develop their core competence to increase their competitive advantage since 1990. Because an important source of a firm’s sustainable competitive advantage is core competence. Core competence is the roots of competitiveness. An individual firm’s products and services are its fruits. The important sources of core competence are effective technology management, people, organizational learning, and strategic flexibility. This paper reviews the literature of core competence and includes the case studies about core competence in Turkey and world
