Abstract

Using the data from Turkish Statistical Institute, this study analyzes the relationships between education level and labor participation, unemployment and poverty rates. It is found that there have been relationships between education level and labor participation and poverty rates as expected theoretically. However, it is concluded that the education system doesn’t meet expectations with respect to unemployment rates. EĞİTİM - İŞSİZLİK VE YOKSULLUK İLİŞKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, TÜİK’in en son işgücü ve yoksulluk verileri kullanılarak, ülkemizde eğitim seviyesi ile işgücüne katılım, işsizlik ve yoksulluk oranları arasındaki ilişkiler analiz edilmiştir. Eğitim seviyesi ile işgücüne katılım ve yoksulluk oranları arasında teorik beklentileri karşılayan bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Ancak, işsizlik oranları açısından eğitim sisteminin beklentileri karşılamadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ülkemizde, eğitimin bireysel getirilerinde cinsiyete göre önemli farklılıkların bulunduğu sonucuna da ulaşılmıştır.
