Abstract

People are acting in the direction of avoiding from modern or artificial practices significantly in delivery of health service in recent years. Subject of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practices is more discussed in all channels compared with the past rather than modern practices in delivery of health services. Today, complementary and alternative therapies substituted for the executive bodies in the agenda in parallel with interest of people. In many countries, arrangements intended for the field were enforced; it has been started to take some steps in our country concerning these practices taken under the scope of social security. In the beginning of 2014, "Regulation on Conventional, Complementary and Alternative Medicine Practices" whose draft was submitted to the public opinion by Ministry of Health is one of the most important ones of these steps. Familiarity with CAM alternative therapies, recognition of consumers of these practices as well as the legislation arrangements enforce dare important in terms of CAM patient satisfaction, success in the therapy and service providers. In this study, reasons of individuals for benefiting from the CAM practice and data about their diseases and socio-demographical features are examined within the context of literature.

Hedef Kitle Bağlamında Tamamlayıcı ve Alternatif Tıp Uygulamaları

Year 2015, Issue: 37, 607 - 627, 01.06.2016
