Bilge Kağan Yazıtındaki Karagan Kısıl Adı ve Yeri Üzerine Düşünceler

Abstract

Bilge Kağan yazıtının doğu yüzünün 37. satırında geçen Karagan Kısıl adı çeşitli şekillerdeokunmuş ve anlamlandırılmıştır. Bu makalede Karagan’ın -gAn+ ekiyle; kısıl’ın ise kıs- fiilinden-l+ ekiyle kurulmuş olduğu çeşitli örnekler verilerek belirtildi. Moğolların Gizli Tarihi’ndegeçen ve Selenge ırmağı civarında olduğu bildirilen Hara’un-habçal ‘Haraun geçidi’ ile birve aynı olabileceği dikkatlere sunuldu. Terhin (Taryat) yazıtının batı yüzünün 4. satırındakiKaraga’nın da Selenge ırmağı civarında bulunduğu ve büyük bir olasılıkla Selenge’nin kollarındanbiri olan Haraa gool (Haraa ırmağı) veya Hara’un dağları olduğu ve aynı bölgede olmasıdolayısıyla Karagan Kısıl ile ilişkili olduğu önerildi.

Considerations On The Name And Place Karagan Kisil In The Inscription Of Bilge Kagan

Abstract

The name Karagan Kısıl, which occurs in the 37th line and on the eastern side of the Bilge
Kagan Inscription, was read in numerous ways and was thus attributed meanings. It has been
asserted in this article with some examples that the word Karagan might have been formed
with the suffix -gan+; and that the word kısıl is a derivation of the verb kıs- plus the suffix -l+.
It has also been asserted that Hara’un-habçal, which is mentioned in the Secret History of the
Mongols and which is also known to be around the River Selenge, might be identical with
‘Haraun Passage’. It has been suggested that Karaga, on the 4th line and on the western side of
the Terhin (Taryat) Inscription, is situated around the River Selenge and most probably it
refers to Haraa gool (the River Haraa) which is a branch of Selenge, or it refers to Hara’un
mountain ranges, and accordingly it is related to Karagan Kısıl as they are in the same region.
