Investigation of Root Induction Effect of Lysophosphatidylethanolamine by using Phaseolus Aureus L. Model System

Abstract

Recent studies shows that phospholipids and phospholipases play an important role not only plant development but also signaling and hormonal role in plant life. However, by comparison, there is very little information available on the effect of exogenously applied phospholipids on plant growth and development. The aim of this study was to investigate root induction effect of Lysophosphatidylethanolamine (L) by using Phaseolus aureus L. model system. For this purpose, three different concentration of L compared with NAA and IBA auxins by determination of average rooting ability during the 5 to 9 days of experiment. Result of the study shows that except 200 ppm L application all treatments were induce more rooting than control after seventh day. The most root induction was observed with plants treated with 10 ppm IBA after seven days. Effect of 10 ppm NAA and 50 or 100 ppm L was statistically the same on the induction of rooting in this model system at seventh to ninth days of experiment and these treatments were statistically induced more root than control treatments
