Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, yaygın olarak "İstanbul Sosyoloji" olarak anılan İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünün tarihini ve Sosyoloji Dergisi isimli süreli yayınını ana hatlarıyla tanıtmaktır. İstanbul Sosyoloji'nin ve Sosyoloji Dergisi'nin kısa bir tarihi, İstanbul Sosyoloji'nin kuruluşundan günümüze kadrosunda yer alan isimler aracılığıyla anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. İstanbul Sosyoloji'de oluşan ana akımlar ve gelenekler hakkında genel bir fikir vermek için bu isimlerin biyografileri ve temel eserleri yanında bölümde son dönem yapılan çalışmalar da ele alınmıştır.

From İçtimaiyat to Sociology: On The Journal of Sociology and the History of the Department of Sociology in Faculty of Letters (IU)

Abstract

This paper aims to outline the history of Istanbul University's Sociology department, commonly called "Istanbul Sociology" and its periodical named Sosyoloji Dergisi [Journal of Sociology]. It tries to give a short history of Istanbul Sociology and its periodical Sosyoloji Dergisi by outlining the background stories of the names that have been constituting the staff of Istanbul Sociology from its foundation up until now. In order to give a rough idea of the main streams and conventions that have been formed at Istanbul Sociology, studies recently done at the department plus the biographies of and the main works by those names have also been covered.
