INVESTIGATION OF QUALITY AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PROPERATIES OF SOME POTATO VARIETIES AFTER STORAGE

Öz

In this study, under Erzurum ecological conditions, yield an some quality properties of 20 potato varieties after storage in 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 were investigated. Weight loss of the varieties used in the trial after storage was between 5.78% and 13.49%; specific gravity change was between -0.85'% and 0.82% , dry matter change was between -9.20%  and 10.26%; starch change was between 14.40% and 15.68%; the ratio of woken up tubers was between 4.68% and 34.41%; the ratio of sprouted tubers was between I7.73% and 62.17%, the ratio of non-sprouted tubers was between 0.59% and 43.22% and the ratio of diseased tubers was 8.20% and 54.45% with regard to properties investigated of the varieties taken into trail; the varieties of Agria, Marinca, Marfona and Quinta gave the best results.
