Abstract

In Divanü Lugat-it-Türk the splendid work of Kasgarlı Mahmud there are lots of supplies for Turkish history and culture. Although there have been many studies an it since it was found, it still contains the subjects, that can still be worked and searched in every field of Turkologia on Divanü Lugat-it-Türk, which is as worthy as a treasure, will take way years, so another cultural subjects in Divanü Lugat-itTürk which intrest us closely an geographical terms and location names. Accepted by the world of science, it is a truth that have been many studies on this subject both inside and outside of Turkey. As a matter of fact, we aimed to carry out that study at least at the level of an article in the light of new historical and geographical knowledges. Historical geography means studying the locations when people lived in the past from every aspect in real by using today’s modern geographical methods. However, since the content of such a deep study can’t be in the extent of an article, we must limit our study

Abstract

Biz bu çalışmada Divanü Lûgat-it-Türk’te geçen pek çok ülke, şehir, kasaba, köy ve diğerlerini derleyip, yerlerini belirlemeye çalıştık. Ancak gözden kaçırdığımız başka coğrafi mekanlar olabileceği gibi, belki de mevkileri hususunda da yanlış tahminlerde bulunabiliriz. Bununla birlikte Türkistan coğrafyası üzerine araştırma yapacakların önünü bir parça da olsa açabildiğimizi ümit ediyoruz
