Öz
The paper deals with the topic of hair offerings with specijic reference tothe inscriptions dug out from the city of Panarama. Panamara (Bağyaka) isabout eleven kilometres away from Stratonikeia, the Carian city. By who and under what conditions were the hair offerings made are the questions whiclı have been considered. More than sixty inscriptions that have reached the present day have been carefully studied. lt has been discovered that all the offerings were made by men and dedicated to Zeus of Panamaros, the local deity of Caria. The offerings were made at the sacred area Komyrion, the place where the temple of Zeus Panamaros was located. No offerings were made in the name of Hera although she occupied an important part in the religious life of the area. There was a temple erected in Hera's name and there was no trace of any offerings made in her name. This may be because women were not allowed to enter the sacred area of Komyrion, which seated the steles of offering. lt has also been recovered that men who made the offerings belonged to various social classes and positions and that the act of making offerings was repeated. Generally speaking, hair offerings were made either as sign ofrespect and gratitude or the indication of something desired. The offerings at Panamara, however, indicate a strong desire of being close to the deity.lt has, therefore, been deduced that the offerings in question were made to gain the favour of the deity in whose name the sacrifice was made and to indicate the degree of gratitude felt for him

Bu çalışmada Karia Bölgesi kentlerinden Stratonikeia'ya yaklaşık II km.
uzaklıkta bulunan tapınak kenti Panamara'dan (Bağyaka) gün ışığına çıkarılan
yazıtlar çerçevesinde saç adaklar ele alınmıştır. Söz konusu kentten günümüze
ulaşan altmıştan fazla yazıtın konusunu oluşturan saç adaklarının kimler
tarafından ve hangi durumlarda yapıldığı araştırılmıştır
