1. Tarih Kritik Dergisi (TKD) tarih sahasında genel kaide olarak son iki yılda yayımlanmış eserlerin Türkçe ve İngilizce değerlendirme ve incelemelerini yayımlar. Başka bir yayın organında yayımlanmış yazıların çevirileri yayımlanabilir. Bu durumda çevirilerin özgün metni de gönderilmelidir.

2. TKD’ye gönderilen yazılar editör tarafından derginin yayın kriterleri açısından incelenir. Editör kuşkuya düştüğü̈ hususlarda yayın kurulundan görüş talep alır. Uygun bulunan yazı ilgili hakeme gönderilir. Hakemin uygun bulduğu yazı yayımlanır. Editör, yazılarda yazım şekli ile ilgili değişiklik yapabilir.

3. Yazarlara, yayımlanan yazılar için herhangi bir telif ücreti ödenmez.

4. Kitap değerlendirmesi bir eserin sırf özeti değil, eleştirel olarak değerlendirmesi olmalıdır. Değerlendirmede yazar; kitapla aynı fikirde olabilir, karşı çıkabilir ya da kitabın sunduğu bilgilerde, yargılarda, yapıda örnek teşkil eden veya eksik kalan yönleri belirtebilir. Kitap değerlendirmesi yapan yazar ayrıca kitapla ilgili düşüncelerini de açık bir şekilde ifade etmelidir.

5. Kitap incelemesi ise bir eserde ortaya konulan önemli noktalara ışık tutularak, bunların eleştirel olarak tartışılmasıdır. Kitap incelemesi giriş, kitabın özeti, eleştirel tartışma ve sonuç gibi genel bir yapıyı takip etmelidir. Metin yazılırken bir denge gözetilmelidir. İlgili kitabın bazı bölümlerine hiç değinmemek veya salt kitabın nelerden bahsettiğini aktarıp geçmek doğru değildir. Kitap incelemesi yazarı,

        a. Giriş kısmında ana tez ve yaklaşımını ifade etmeli,

        b. Özet kısmında kitabın esas argüman ve iddiaları üzerine odaklanmalı ve çalıştığı disipline getirdiği katkı ve itirazları sıralamalı,

        c. Eleştirel tartışma kısmında kitap yazarının alanında yaptığı katkıların önemini değerlendirmeli, argümanlarının dayandığı veriler ve bunların bağlama uygun kullanılıp kullanılmadığını incelemeli ve

        ç. Sonuç kısmında kitaba ilişkin ulaştığı sonuçları ifade etmelidir.

6. Başlık bilgilerinde, değerlendirme veya incelemesi yapılan eserin adı, yazarı, yayımlandığı şehir ve yayınevi, yayın yılı, kaç sayfa olduğu ve ISBN numarası yazılmalıdır. Başlık bilgilerinin bir satır altına, değerlendirme/incelemeyi yazanın adı SOYADI sağa dayalı olarak, açıklama işareti konularak yazılır:

7. Sayfa altında özel işarete karşılık olarak yazarın akademik ünvanı, mensup olduğu kurum ve e-posta adresi aşağıdaki gibi yazılır:

8. Kitap değerlendirme metinlerinin 800-1.500 kelime arasında, kitap inceleme metinlerinin ise 2.500-4.000 kelime arasında olması tercih edilir.

9. Değerlendirme veya incelemenin yapıldığı eserin kapak resmi, metnin başlık bilgilerinin hemen üstüne ortalanarak konulmalı, eğik veya yatık olmamalıdır. Kapak resminin ölçüleri; yükseklik 8, genişlik 5 cm olacak şekilde düzeltilmelidir. Kapak resminin üzerine çift tıklandığında açılacak “Biçim” sekmesinde bu ayarlama yapılabilir.

10. Kapak resminin üzerinde herhangi bir dağıtımcının logosu veya başka bir görsel/işaret bulunmamalıdır.

11. Yazı karakteri Times New Roman, 11 punto, satırlar bir buçuk aralıklı, dipnotlar 9 punto ve tek aralıklı yazılmalıdır. Paragraflar arası önce 3 nk, sonra 3 nk, iki yana dayalı olmalıdır.

12. Metin içinde vurgulanması istenen kısımlar italik olarak yazılmalıdır. Alıntılar ise italik harflerle ve tırnak içinde verilmelidir. Üç satırdan az olan alıntılar satır arasında, üç satırdan fazla olan alıntılar ise satır başı yapılarak, satırın iki yanından 1 cm içeride blok halinde, 9 punto ve 1 satır aralığıyla yazılmalıdır.

13. Künye satırlarında mevcut olan kitap adı, sayfa sayısı, yayın yılı gibi bilgilerin metin içinde tekrarına gerek yoktur.

14. Yazıda başka bir çalışmadan alıntı yapılıyorsa mutlaka dipnot verilerek, ilgili kaynağa atıf yapılmalıdır. Eğer değerlendirilen eser için referans veriliyorsa “(s. 132)” gibi bir kullanım yeterli ve gereklidir. Dipnot verilerek kitabın uzun künyesinin tekrar yazılması uygun değildir.

15. Dipnotlar klasik yöntemde sayfa altında numaralandırılarak verilir.

16. Kitap değerlendirme yazılarında kaynakça vermeye gerek yoktur. Kaynakça, makale hacmindeki kitap incelemelerinde verilmelidir.

17. Değerlendirme/inceleme yazılarının içeriğinde eleştirilere yer verilmesi tabii ve tercih edilen bir durum olmakla beraber, yazıların, “… konusunu merak etmiyorsanız okumanızı tavsiye etmem” gibi olumsuz yargılar yerine “… meraklısına tavsiye ederim” gibi olumlu ifadelerle sonlandırılması daha uygun olacaktır.

18. Yapay zekâ araçlarıyla yazılan herhangi bir ibarenin bulunduğu bir metnin gönderilmesi uygun değildir. Böyle bir durum tespit edildiğinde yazarın hiçbir yazısı dikkate alınmayacaktır.

1. The Journal of History Critique (JHC) generally publishes Turkish and English book reviews and review essays published in the field of history within the last two years as a general rule. Translations of articles published in another publication can be published. In this case, the original text of the translations must also be submitted.

2. Articles submitted to JCH are reviewed by the editor in terms of the journal's publication criteria. The editor may seek opinions from the editorial board if there are doubts about certain issues. Articles deemed appropriate are sent to the relevant referee. Articles approved by the referee are published. The editor may make changes related to the writing style in the articles.

3. No royalty fee is paid to the authors for the published Writings.

4. A book review should not merely be a summary of the work, but a critical evaluation. In the review, the author can agree with, oppose, or highlight exemplary or lacking aspects in the information, judgments, and structure presented by the book. The author reviewing the book should also clearly express their thoughts about the book.

5. A review essay illuminates the significant points presented in a work and discusses them critically. It should follow a general structure consisting of an introduction, a summary of the book, a critical discussion, and a conclusion. A balance should be maintained in the text. It is not correct to completely ignore some parts of the related book or to merely summarize what the book discusses. The author of the book critique should:
        

        a. Express the main thesis and approach in the introduction,
        b. Focus on the book's main arguments and claims in the summary part and list the contributions and objections it brings to the discipline,
        c. Evaluate the importance of the contributions made by the book's author in their field in the critical discussion part, examine the data supporting the arguments and their appropriateness to the context, and
        d. State the conclusions reached about the book in the conclusion part.

6. In the title information, the name of the work being reviewed or critiqued, the author, the city and publishing house where it was published, the year of publication, the number of pages, and the ISBN number should be written. Below the title information, the name of the person who wrote the review/critique should be aligned to the right, followed by a colon:

7. In footnote section, academic title, institution and e-mail address of reviewer are required to be written with asterisk:

8. Book review texts are preferred to be between 800-1,500 words, while review essays should be between 2,500-4,000 words.

9. The cover image of the work being reviewed or analyzed should be centered just above the title information of the text, and should not be tilted or laid down. The dimensions of the cover image; height should be 8 cm and width 5 cm. This adjustment can

be made in the "Format" tab that opens when the cover image is double-clicked.

10. There should not be any distributor's logo or any other visual/sign on the cover image.

11. The font should be Times New Roman, 11 point, with 1.5 line spacing, footnotes should be 9 point and single spaced. The space between paragraphs should first be 3 nk, then 3 nk, justified.

12. Parts of the text that need to be emphasized should be written in italics. Quotes should also be in italics and enclosed in quotation marks. Quotes less than three lines should be included in-line, while quotes longer than three lines should be indented at the beginning of the line, blocked with 1 cm margins on both sides, 9 point and single spaced.

13. There is no need to repeat information such as the book title, page number, publication year, etc., that is present in the masthead lines within the text.

14. If quoting from another work, a footnote must be provided, referencing the relevant source. If referencing the evaluated work, a usage like "(p. 132)" is sufficient and necessary. It is not appropriate to rewrite the book's full citation in a footnote.

15. Footnotes should be numbered and given at the bottom of the page in the classical method.

16. There is no need to provide a bibliography in book review articles. Bibliographies should be included in review essays that are the size of an article.

17. Including critiques in the content of review/analysis articles is natural and preferred; however, ending the writings with positive statements such as "... recommended for those interested" instead of negative judgments like "I would not recommend reading if you are not interested in the subject..." is more appropriate.

18. Submitting a text that contains any phrase written by artificial intelligence tools is not appropriate. If such a case is detected, none of the author's writings will be considered.
