Abstract
In today's economic conditions, manufacturing enterprises have to strive to reach the industry 4.0 compatible digital level. It has been observed that the application of Industry 4.0 compatible digital technologies, especially in production enterprises, significantly reduces the fixed costs in the relevant enterprises. Many businesses are in an effort to harmonize their technologies and infrastructure with industry 4.0 in order to closely follow digital developments. In order to ensure this transition at optimum cost, the digital maturity level of the relevant business should be clearly demonstrated. In the mentioned determination process, it is only possible with digital maturity level determination tools. Otherwise, it is clear that many businesses will go bankrupt by staying out of technology. In the study, it was aimed to determine the level of digital maturity in rubber production enterprises, especially among the production enterprises, by using the DMAT (Digital Maturity Assessment Tool) scale developed within Aarhus University. The universe of the research is a total of 85 rubber production enterprises operating in Bursa. The fact that the data collection phase coincides with the Covid-19 pandemic period has a great impact, especially in the study being limited to Bursa province. In addition, during the relevant pandemic period, not all Bursa province production enterprises, but especially rubber production enterprises were preferred. Because the researchers of the study have field experience in this sector. The situations described can be considered as limitations of the study. As a sample, 122 managers of 72 enterprises from the universe were reached. Statistical analyzes were made using the obtained data and SPSS 22.0 program. As a result of the evaluated analyzes, significant and meaningful results were found in terms of the literature. The relevant results were shared with the rubber companies that are the subject of the study and operating in the universe. With this aspect, it is thought that the study will be a significant guide to both all rubber production enterprises and production enterprises that are in the transition phase to Industry 4.0. In future academic studies, it is recommended to apply the digital maturity level scale, especially in service businesses.
