Evaluation Principles
1) Articles that have not been previously published or are not currently under review for publication in another journal, and that have been approved by each author, will be accepted for evaluation.
2) Submitted articles that pass the preliminary check are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software.
3) Turkish Academic Research Review conducts a double-blind peer review process. All submissions will first be evaluated by the editor for suitability for the journal. Articles deemed suitable will be sent to at least two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the article.
4) The Editors evaluates manuscripts independently of the authors' ethnicity, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, and political philosophy. He/she ensures that manuscripts submitted for publication undergo a fair double-blind peer review process.
5) The Editor-in-Chief does not allow conflicts of interest between authors, editors, and reviewers.
6) The editorial board is responsible for the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of articles. The editorial board's decision is final.
7) Editors do not participate in decisions regarding articles written by themselves, their family members, or colleagues, or articles related to products or services in which the editor is involved. Any such submission is subject to all of the journal's normal procedures.
Principles of the Peer Review Process for Editorial Staff Work
Editorial articles and analysis articles written by the editors of Turkish Academic Research Review are not subject to external peer review. Original research articles, however, are sent to at least two external reviewers for blind peer review. During this period, the roles of those editors are suspended.
Preliminary Review and Plagiarism Screening
The work is reviewed by the editor for compliance with the journal's publication principles, academic writing rules, and the APA Citation System, and is screened for plagiarism using the Turnitin program. The preliminary review is completed within a maximum of 15 days.
Field Editor Review
Manuscripts that pass the Preliminary Review and Plagiarism Screening stage are reviewed by the relevant field editor for problematic content and academic language and style. This review is completed within a maximum of 15 days.
Peer Review Process (Academic Evaluation)
Manuscripts that pass the field editor's review are submitted for evaluation to at least two external reviewers who have a doctoral thesis, book, or article related to the subject. The peer review process is conducted confidentially within the framework of double-blind peer review. The reviewer is requested to either indicate their opinion and views on the reviewed work in the text or justify them with an explanation of at least 150 words on the online reviewer form. The author is given the right to object and defend their views if they disagree with the reviewers' opinions. The field editor facilitates mutual communication between the author and the reviewers, maintaining confidentiality. If both reviewer reports are positive, the work is submitted to the Editorial Board for consideration for publication. If one of the two reviewers expresses a negative opinion, the work is sent to a third reviewer. Works can be published with the positive decision of at least two reviewers. The decision to publish book and symposium reviews and doctoral thesis abstracts is made based on the evaluation of at least two internal reviewers (relevant field editors and/or members of the Editorial Board).
Revision Stage
If the reviewers request revisions to the text they have reviewed, the relevant reports are sent to the author, and they are asked to revise their work. The author makes corrections using the “Track Changes” feature in Word or indicates changes in the text in red. The author submits the corrected text to the field editor.
Field Editor Review
The field editor checks whether the author has made the requested corrections to the text.
Reviewer Check
The reviewer who requested corrections checks whether the author has made the requested corrections to the text.
Language Check
Papers that have gone through the review process are reviewed by Language Editors and the Chief Editor, and corrections are requested from the author if necessary. The review process is completed within a maximum of 15 days.
Publication Board Review
Articles that have undergone technical, academic, and linguistic reviews are examined by the Publication Board, which decides whether they will be published and, if so, in which issue. The Board makes its decision by majority vote. In the event of a tie, the decision is made in favor of the editor's decision.
Typesetting and Layout Stage
The typesetting and layout of the works decided to be published by the Publication Board are completed to prepare them for publication, and they are sent to the author for review. This stage takes a maximum of 15 days.
Data Submission to National and International Indexes
The data for the published issue is submitted to the relevant indexes within 15 days.
