An Analysis of Mathematical Concepts in the 4th Grade Social Studies Textbook

Abstract

In Turkey, it is important to associate the social studies course, which starts at the 4th grade level, with mathematics concepts in order to reveal the interdisciplinary coherence of the curriculum. In this study, it was aimed to determine the mathematical concepts in the 4th grade social studies course book and to reveal how the related concepts were covered. In line with this purpose, the study examined the mathematics concepts in the primary school 4th grade Social Studies textbook prepared according to the 2018 Social Studies Curriculum, which is currently in force, on the basis of the 2018 Mathematics Curriculum.
