In this research, it is aimed to determine the factors affecting the utilization of these sources as biomass by determining qualities and quantities of potential sources of biomass energy in Kars province. In addition to field studies, calculations and analyzes were carried out using the data obtained from relevant institutions. The bioenergy potential was determined through the available biomass resources with the results obtained. Most of the provinces in Kars have the potential to use biomass resources for agricultural products and wastes, animal wastes, urban household wastes and food industry wastes from livestock wastes. Wastes and resources that can be used as biomass constitute a total of 1.558.794 tons / year biomass, and it is estimated that these sources have the potential of 76.913.077 m3 / year biogas, 49,991 tons / year TEP or 361,488 mwh / year electricity energy. Nonetheless, many inland evaluations of these biomass-producing wastes are still less viable for biomass potential on the ground because of the substitutable alternative to wastes.
