Süt Çocukluğu Döneminde Bir Pansitopeni Nedeni: B12 Vitamini Eksikliği

Year 2016, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 67 - 69, 01.04.2016

Abstract

Çocukluk döneminde B12 vitamin eksikliği nadir görülür ve hastalar genellikle özgül olmayan hematolojik veya nörolojik bulgularla hastaneye başvururlar. B12 vitamini eksikliği sıklıkla yetersiz alım sonucu oluşmaktadır. Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde, sosyoekonomik düzeyi düşük olan annelerde B12 vitamin eksikliği yüksek oranda gelişir. Anne sütündeki B12 vitamin eksikliği ilk 2 yılda semptomlara neden olmaktadır.B12 vitamini eksikliğinin tedavisi, iyi klinik yanıt alınması ve kalıcı nörolojik hasarların önlenmesi nedeniyle önemlidir. Burada pansitopeni etiyolojisi araştırılırken B12 vitamini eksikliği tanısı alan bir olgu sunulmuştur.

A Rare Cause of Pancytopenia: Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Year 2016, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 67 - 69, 01.04.2016

Abstract

Vitamin B12 defi ciency with non-specifi c signs is uncommon in childhood. It often develops as a result of inadequate intake. Mothers with low socioeconomic status may develop vitamin B12 defi ciency. It should be kept in mind that this defi ciency has higher incidence rates in infants at birth and during feeding with only breast milk. Lack of vitamin B12 in breast milk may cause symptoms in the fi rst 2 years of age. Treatment of vitamin B12 defi ciency is important as it ensures a good clinical response and prevention of permanent neurological damage. We present a case diagnosed with vitamin B12 defi ciency
