Hipogliseminin Nadir Bir Nedeni: Geçici Adrenal Yetmezlik

Year 2010, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 100 - 103, 01.08.2010

Abstract

A RARE REASON OF HYPOGLYCEMIA: TRANSIENT ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY

Year 2010, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 100 - 103, 01.08.2010

Abstract

Hypoglycemia in the neonatal and early infantile period is one of the preventable cause of mental retardation and seizures. Underlying causes of hypoglycemia in that period usually arised from transient disorders. Hypoglycemia is also a frequent condition among prematurely born or intrauterine growth retarded infants. Endocrinologic causes of hypoglycemia are rare but usually occur in the neonatal or early infantile period. Transient adrenocortical dysfunction might be seen in the premature and very low birth weight infants. We present herein a neonate with intractable hypoglycemia and diagnosed transient adrenal insufficiency
