THE SONQOR TURKS AND THEIR LANGUAGE

Abstract

It is known that, geography of Iran is very important for Turkish history from ancient times. Throughout its history, this geography managed by various Turkish states is still have the same importance. Studies on the Turkish communities in Iran accelerated in recent years. In this way, our knowledge of the region is also increasing day by day. Sungur Turks who lives in Kermanshah Province of Iran constitute the basis of this study are also a Turkish community. The study provides general information about the Sungur Turks with examples of the phonetic and morphologic characteristics of Sungur Turkish. Information about the sociolinguistic view of Sungur Turkish has shared with community of science. Finally, text examples which belongs to Sungur Turkish has given and visual material added to the end of the article which are compiled from the people in the area.
