Abstract

Bu makalede, 2020 yılında yayın hayatına başlayan Türk Din Psikolojisi Dergisi’nin 2020-2024 yılları arasında yayınlanan 1. ile 10. sayıları arasındaki bilimsel yayınların bibliyometrik analizleri yapılmıştır. Makalenin temel amacı, derginin alan tarihine olan akademik katkılarını değerlendirerek, söz konusu dönemde yayınlanan sayılardaki bilimsel ürünleri, bu araştırmaya yönelik çeşitli nitel parametreler aracılığıyla bilimsel bir perspektiften incelemektir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda elde edilen başlıca bulgular aşağıda sıralanmıştır: (i) Dergide toplam 102 yazarın akademik yayını bulunmakta olup tamamı (% 100) Türkiye merkezli kurumsal yapılara bağlıdır. (xi) Kitap incelemelerine konu olan eserlerin % 66,7’si dokümantasyon (n=16), % 20,8’i nicel (n=5), % 12,5’i nitel (n=3), % 4,2’si karma (n=1) yöntemlidir.

Abstract

This article presents a bibliometric analysis of scientific publications in the Turkish Journal for Psychology of Religion, issues 1 through 10, published between 2020-2024. The purpose is to evaluate the journal's academic contributions and examine published scientific outputs using various qualitative parameters. Key findings are as follows: (i) A total of 102 authors contributed academically, all (100 %) affiliated with Turkey-based institutional structures. (ii) In terms of academic titles, 16.67 % were professors, 5.88 % associate professors, 4.90 % assistant professors, and 6.86 % researchers with the title “Dr.” Additionally, 34.31 % were master's students, 22.55 % doctoral students, 3.92 % research assistants, 0.98 % doctoral lecturers, 0.98 % doctoral teachers, and 2.94% teachers. (iii) Of 86 academic outputs, 81.4 % were single-authored and 18.6 % coauthored. Publications with three or more authors were not present. (iv) Regarding author affiliations, 71.57 % were employed at universities or enrolled in graduate programs, 12.75 % worked at the Ministry of National Education, 8.82 % at other public institutions, and 6.86 % at the Presidency of Religious Affairs. (v) Concerning publication types, 68.60 % were articles, 27.90 % book reviews, and 3.50 % interviews. (vi) Among article themes, "religiosity and psychological variables" stood out at 18.6 %, followed by "biographical studies" and "developmental period and religious development" at 13.6 % each. Additionally, themes such as "psychopathology and religious coping," "morality, values, and social psychology," and "religion, identity, and culture" attracted attention at 10.2 %. (vii) Book review themes included "theories and literature in psychology of religion" at 33.3 %, "positive psychology and religion" at 20.8 %, and "psychotherapy, mental health, and religion" at 16.6 %. (viii) Articles were 67.8 % empirical (n=40) and 32.2 % theoretical (n=19). (ix) Book reviews were 66.7 % theoretical (n=16) and 33.3 % empirical (n=8). (x) Documentation technique was used most frequently in articles at 59.3 % (n=35), followed by quantitative at 25.4 % (n=15), qualitative at 13.6 % (n=8), and mixed methods at 1.7 % (n=1). No meta-analysis studies were conducted. (xi) Among reviewed books, 66.7 % employed documentation (n=16), 20.8 % quantitative (n=5), 12.5 % qualitative (n=3), and 4.2 % mixed methods (n=1); meta-analysis was not utilized. In conclusion, it has been determined that this journal, which is the first and only (2025) academic journal in its field in Turkey, serves as an academic platform that significantly contributes scientifically to the development of the Turkish psychology of religion literature.
