Purpose: The importance of the preschool period in the development of the child is well-known. In general, self-regulation skill has an important role in the development, learning and social relations of the individual. This research aims to determine the extent to which preschool children’s self-regulation skills are affected by mothers’ bibliotherapy practices. Method and Materials: In this study, quantitative and qualitative methods were used together. A single-group pre-test-post-test experimental design from the quantitative methods was used. Fifteen children and their mothers participated in the study. Within the scope of the research, 8 sessions were applied. Before the sessions and at the end of the 8 sessions, the “Scale for Evaluating Preschool Children’s Self-Regulation Skills (Mother Form)” was applied. Results: It was concluded that bibliotherapy practice of mothers to their children aged 4-6 had a positive effect on children’s self-regulation skills. Fifteen mothers participating in the study applied bibliotherapy effectively. It has been concluded that mothers can perform bibliotherapy practices for their children for different skills and problem situations.
